Extraordinary need requires broad-based response

We knew it would be a tough year. We just didn’t expect it to be this bad. As co-chairmen of the United Way of Northwest Connecticut’s annual fundraising campaign, Litchfield Bancorp Executive Vice President and COO Tom Villanova and I are faced with one of the most difficult years in recent memory for raising the approximately $1 million that provides crucial support to 24 local social service agencies and nonprofit organizations.
