Web-only legal ads would leave public in the dark

Did you visit your town’s Web site this morning to make sure that local officials weren’t allowing a giant cell phone tower to be built next door to your house? Increasing the property tax rate? Switching to every-other-week trash pickup? Accepting bids on a major municipal project that your small business might have a shot at? Under a proposal before the Legislature, you and everyone else in town will have to do that, unless you have ESP and can anticipate when town officials might be up to something that could affect your neighborhood or be of interest to you as a taxpayer.
